Arcapta Neohaler (indacaterol inhalation powder) is indicated for the long-term maintenance bronchodilator treatment of airflow obstruction in adult patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and/or emphysema.

Do’s

  • Arcapta Neohaler is available in the form of inhalation powder in a hard gelatin capsule.
  • The recommended dosage is once-daily inhalation using the Neohaler inhaler.
  • Arcapta Neohaler should be administered every day at the same time of the day by the orally inhaled route only.
  • The capsules should be stored in the blister pack until immediately before use, and any capsules removed from the packaging that are not used right away should be disposed of.
  • The inhaler is designed to pierce the capsule to release the powder. Use the inhaler that comes with the prescription and the indacaterol capsules.
  • If a dose is missed, the next dose should be taken as soon as it is remembered.
  • Continue using Arcapta Neohaler even if the individual feels well.
  • Follow the directions on the prescription label carefully and ask a healthcare provider to explain any part that is not understood. Additionally, seek medical attention if breathing problems worsen quickly or if medications do not seem to work as well in preventing attacks.

Don’ts

  • Do not swallow the capsules for inhalation, as the intended effects on the lungs will not be obtained.
  • Never inhale any other kinds of capsules with the inhaler.
  • The capsules should not be placed in the inhaler's mouthpiece, and the inhaler should not be washed.
  • Arcapta Neohaler should not be used more than once every 24 hours.
  • Do not stop using Arcapta Neohaler without talking to a healthcare provider. Suddenly stopping this medication may cause symptoms to worsen.

This is not a complete list of side effects, and others may occur. If you experience any unusual symptoms or side effects, seek medical advice from a healthcare provider. Additionally, if you have any questions about Arcapta Neohaler or its side effects, talk with your healthcare provider for personalized guidance.

Arcapta Neohaler is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to indacaterol or to any of the ingredients.

Use of a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA), including Arcapta Neohaler, without an inhaled corticosteroid is contraindicated in patients with asthma. Arcapta Neohaler is not indicated for the treatment of asthma.

Indacaterol may increase the risk of death in people with asthma, but the risk in people with COPD is not known. Use only the prescribed dose of this medicine and do not use it for longer than recommended by the healthcare provider.

Because clinical trials are conducted under widely varying conditions, adverse reaction rates observed in the clinical trials of a drug cannot be directly compared to rates in the clinical trials of another drug and may not reflect the rates observed in practice.

If additional adrenergic drugs are to be administered by any route, they should be used with caution because the sympathetic effects of Arcapta Neohaler may be potentiated.

This is not a complete list of warnings and precautions. Consult a healthcare provider for personalized advice and guidance on the usage of Arcapta Neohaler.
