Anafranil (clomipramine) is indicated for the treatment of several conditions, with the primary use being for obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).   • Do not suddenly stop taking this medication without consulting your healthcare provider. Some conditions may worsen when the drug is abruptly stopped. Your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

Some individuals may experience weight gain while taking Anafranil. Monitor your weight regularly and discuss any concerns with your healthcare provider.

Anafranil can raise the chance of seizures for some people, particularly those with a history of seizures. It's generally not recommended for individuals with a history of seizures.

Other Potential Side Effects:

  • Increased susceptibility to infection
  • Breast fibroadenosis
  • Increased blood prolactin levels
