Do’s

• Before using Suprep Bowel Kit, read the Medication Guide and Instructions for Use provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, you should ask your healthcare provider for clarification.
• Follow any special diet instructions provided by your healthcare provider. Typically, on the day before your procedure, you may have a small breakfast or only clear liquids. After breakfast, you should only consume clear liquids until after your procedure. 
• To prevent dehydration, drink as much clear liquid as possible before, during, and after taking Suprep Bowel Kit, unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.
• Use Suprep Bowel Kit as directed by your healthcare provider. The usual dosage is one dose in the evening before the colonoscopy and a second dose the next morning. The specific dosage may vary depending on your age and medical condition.
• Before using Suprep Bowel Kit, pour the contents into the mixing container as directed by the manufacturer. Add cool water, mix well, and drink all of the mixture. After drinking the mixture, drink 2 additional containers filled with water over the next hour. Ensure that you finish drinking all of the mixture and the required water at least 2 hours before your procedure, or as directed by your healthcare provider.
• It is common for watery bowel movements to begin about 1 hour after you drink the mixed liquid. These bowel movements can be very large and watery.

Don’ts

• Do not drink milk or alcoholic beverages, and refrain from consuming anything colored red or purple.
• Do not take any other medications by mouth within 1 hour of starting to drink the Suprep Bowel Kit mixture. If you are unsure about the timing of your other medications, consult your healthcare provider for guidance.

Common Side Effects

• Watery bowel movements

Less Common Side Effects:

• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Bloating
• Stomach/abdominal cramping

If any of these side effects persist or worsen, inform your healthcare provider promptly.

Use caution when prescribing Suprep Bowel Kit for patients with conditions or who are using medications that increase the risk for fluid and electrolyte disturbances. Additional patient evaluations may be necessary in these cases.

Oral medication taken within one hour of starting each dose of Suprep Bowel Kit may be flushed from the gastrointestinal tract and may not be properly absorbed. Consider this when taking other medications alongside Suprep Bowel Kit.

Use caution when prescribing Suprep Bowel Kit for patients at an increased risk of arrhythmias, such as those with a history of prolonged QT, uncontrolled arrhythmias, recent myocardial infarction, unstable angina, congestive heart failure, or cardiomyopathy.

Suprep Bowel Kit is contraindicated in certain conditions, including gastrointestinal obstruction or ileus, bowel perforation, toxic colitis or toxic megacolon, gastric retention, and hypersensitivity to any ingredients in the kit.

Suprep Bowel Kit can cause severe dehydration, which can lead to electrolyte imbalances, seizures, or kidney failure. Drink enough water during the bowel preparation process. If you are unable to drink enough water or experience symptoms such as vomiting, headache, dizziness, or decreased urination, contact your healthcare provider.

Concurrent use of stimulant laxatives (e.g., bisacodyl, sodium picosulfate) with Suprep Bowel Kit may increase the risk of mucosal ulceration or ischemic colitis. Avoid using stimulant laxatives while taking Suprep Bowel Kit.
