Suprax DT (Cefixime)

Do’s

• The dosage of Suprax DT is determined by your healthcare provider based on your medical condition, age, and response to treatment. 
• Suprax DT can be taken with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider. The tablets should be dispersed in a glass of water and swallowed as a solution. 
• The usual recommended frequency for Suprax DT is once a day for adults and children, although in some cases, it may be taken twice a day (every 12 hours) for children.
• Complete the entire course of treatment with Suprax DT, even if you start feeling better before the course is finished. This helps prevent the development of antibiotic resistance and ensures that the infection is fully treated.
• Use Suprax DT only when prescribed by a healthcare provider for a bacterial infection. Using it when it is not required or for non-bacterial infections can make it less effective for future infections.

Don’t

• Do not crush or chew the tablet.

Common Side Effects:

• Diarrhea
• Nausea
• Stomach pain
• Headache
• Vaginal itching or discharge (in females)

Serious Side Effects (Rare):

• Severe allergic reactions, such as rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, or difficulty breathing
• Severe or persistent diarrhea
• Abdominal or stomach pain/cramping
• Yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice)
• Dark urine
• Unusual bleeding or bruising
• Mental/mood changes (e.g., confusion, hallucinations)
• Persistent sore throat or fever

If you experience any severe or persistent side effects, seek immediate medical attention.
