Erythromycin is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections and may also be used to prevent certain bacterial infections. As a macrolide antibiotic, it works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

Erythromycin treats or prevents only bacterial infections and will not be effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu. Overuse or misuse of antibiotics can lead to reduced effectiveness in treating future infections.

Do’s
