• Before starting or continuing the usage of Steglatro, read the Medication Guide provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions or concerns, consult your healthcare provider for clarification.
• Take Steglatro by mouth with or without food as directed by your healthcare provider.
• It is typically taken once daily in the morning.
• The dosage of Steglatro is based on your medical condition and your response to treatment.
• Follow the prescribed dosage provided by your healthcare provider.
• Use Steglatro regularly to obtain the most benefit from it. To help you remember, take it at the same time each day.
• Inform your healthcare provider if your condition does not improve or worsens, such as if your blood sugar levels are too high or too low

• Serious infections in the genital or rectal area
• Changes in urination
• Ketoacidosis

If any of these side effects occur, seek medical attention promptly.

Withhold Steglatro for at least 4 days, if possible, before major surgery or procedures associated with prolonged fasting. It should be resumed when the patient is clinically stable and has resumed oral intake.

Patients should be informed that symptomatic hypotension may occur with Steglatro, and they should contact their healthcare provider if they experience such symptoms. Dehydration may increase the risk of hypotension, so adequate fluid intake is advised.

The incidence of hypoglycemia may increase when Steglatro is added to insulin and/or an insulin secretagogue. Patients or caregivers should be educated on the signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia.

Patients 65 years and older had a higher incidence of adverse reactions related to volume depletion compared to younger patients.

Assessment of renal function is recommended before initiation of Steglatro and periodically thereafter. In patients with volume depletion, this condition should be corrected before initiating Steglatro.

Steglatro is not recommended for patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus, as it may increase the risk of diabetic ketoacidosis in these patients.
