Oxytrol (Oxybutynin) is used to treat an overactive bladder by relaxing the muscles in the bladder. It improves symptoms such as the inability to control urination (incontinence), the feeling of urgency to urinate, and frequent urination.

This medication belongs to the class of drugs known as antispasmodics, and its mechanism of action is essential in managing overactive bladder symptoms.

Oxybutynin, as an antispasmodic, works by relaxing the smooth muscles of the bladder. By doing so, it helps reduce the symptoms associated with an overactive bladder, providing relief to individuals experiencing urinary urgency, frequency, and incontinence.
