Do’s

Take Xyzal oral solution exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, considering:
Dosage: This depends on your age, medical condition, and response to treatment.

Frequency: Typically once daily in the evening.

With or without food: Xyzal can be taken with or without food.

If using the liquid form, use the provided measuring device/spoon to ensure an accurate dose. Don't rely on household spoons for measurement.

Inform your healthcare provider if your condition worsens or doesn't improve, or if you suspect a serious medical problem.

Don'ts

Don't adjust dosage or frequency: Don't increase your dose or take Xyzal more often than prescribed by your healthcare provider.

Don't use a household spoon (liquid only): The provided measuring device ensures accurate dosage. Avoid using household spoons.

Don't skip doses: Try to take Xyzal consistently, ideally at the same time each day. If you miss a dose, don't take a double dose to compensate. Just take the next dose as scheduled.

Common side effects may include:

Drowsiness

Fatigue

Weakness/lethargy

Dry mouth

Runny or stuffy nose

Sore throat

Fever

Cough

Nosebleed

Diarrhea

Vomiting

Ear infection

Serious side effects may include:

Severe allergic reaction: Although rare, a serious allergic reaction to levocetirizine can occur. Seek immediate medical help if you notice symptoms such as rash, itching/swelling (especially of the face/tongue/throat), or severe dizziness.

Seizures

Hallucinations

Even death

Disclose any allergies to levocetirizine, cetirizine, hydroxyzine, or any of the solution's inactive ingredients.

Inform your healthcare provider about:

Difficulty urinating (especially due to an enlarged prostate)

Kidney disease

Xyzal may cause drowsiness. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring alertness until the effects subside.

Limit alcohol and marijuana use as they can worsen drowsiness.

If you have diabetes, phenylketonuria (PKU), or other conditions requiring you to limit sugar or aspartame intake, consult your healthcare provider before using Xyzal as some liquid formulations may contain these ingredients.

Disclose all medications (prescription, over-the-counter, and herbal) to your healthcare provider before any surgery.

Xyzal should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

Xyzal passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
