Do’s

• The dosage of Lioresal is typically based on your medical condition and your response to treatment. 
• This medication is usually taken by mouth with or without food, as directed by your healthcare provider, typically up to 3 times a day.
• If you are using the liquid form of Lioresal, carefully measure the dose using a special measuring device or spoon provided. 
• For the granules form of Lioresal, gently shake the packet before use. You can either empty the entire contents of the packet into your mouth and swallow, or mix it with a small amount of soft food or liquid, and take all of the mixture within 2 hours.
• To minimize the risk of side effects, your healthcare provider may advise starting this medication at a low dose and gradually increasing it.
• Take Lioresal regularly at the same times each day to maximize the benefits. 
• If your condition does not improve or worsens, inform your healthcare provider.

Don’ts

• Do not increase your dose or take this medication more frequently than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Do not use a household spoon when measuring the liquid form, as it may not provide the correct dose.
• Do not discontinue this medication without consulting your healthcare provider, as sudden cessation can lead to withdrawal symptoms.

Common Side Effects:

• Feeling dizzy, sleepy, tired, or weak
• Trouble sleeping
• Upset stomach or throwing up
• Headache
• Constipation

Other Potential Side Effects:

• A heartbeat that does not feel normal
• Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
• Tiredness
• Frequent urination
