Patients should be informed that acute pancreatitis has been reported during the use of linagliptin. Persistent severe abdominal pain, sometimes radiating to the back, is the hallmark symptom of acute pancreatitis. Patients should discontinue Jentadueto promptly and contact their healthcare provider if persistent, severe abdominal pain occurs.

The risk of hypoglycemia is increased when Jentadueto is used in combination with certain medications, such as insulin secretagogues or insulin. Patients should be informed about this risk.

Risk factors for metformin-associated lactic acidosis include renal impairment, concomitant use of certain drugs, age 65 years or older, and having a radiological study with contrast. Patients should be informed about hypersensitivity reactions and associated risk factors.
