Do’s

• Take Urocit-K exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. 
• Urocit-K should be taken with meals or a bedtime snack as directed by your healthcare provider. 
• Swallow the Urocit-K tablets whole with a full glass of water or other liquid (8 ounces or 240 milliliters), unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider. 
• Your healthcare provider may advise you to follow a low-salt (low-sodium) diet and increase fluid intake while taking Urocit-K. Adhere to their dietary and fluid intake recommendations closely. 
• Use Urocit-K regularly and take it at the same times each day to maximize its benefits. Consistency in timing is crucial for the medication's effectiveness.
• While taking Urocit-K, you may need to test the pH (acidity) of your urine using special paper. The pH level will help determine the proper dose. Consult your healthcare provider for more information on this monitoring process.

Don’ts

• Do not alter the dosage or frequency without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Do not crush or chew the tablets, as this can release all of the drug at once, increasing the risk of side effects.
• After taking the medication, do not lie down for at least 10 minutes. 
• Avoid taking Urocit-K on an empty stomach.
• Avoid using salt substitutes that contain potassium unless directed by your healthcare provider.

For individuals who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, discuss the use of Urocit-K with a healthcare provider, as its potential impact on an unborn baby is not fully known. Similarly, those who are breastfeeding should seek guidance on the safety of using Urocit-K while breastfeeding.
