Motilium DT (Domperidone)

Do’s

Take Motilium DT exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider. This includes dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment.

Take the tablets with food or milk. This can help minimize stomach upset.

Dissolve the tablet in your mouth. Let it dissolve completely before swallowing.

If you experience persistent nausea or vomiting, consult your healthcare provider.

Don'ts

Don't take more Motilium DT than prescribed. Overdosing can be dangerous.

Don't take Motilium DT for longer than recommended by your healthcare provider.

Don't take Motilium DT if you are allergic to domperidone or any other ingredients in the medication.

Don't give Motilium DT to children under 12 years old.

Don't take Motilium DT if you have a history of stomach bleeding or perforation.

Common side effects:

Restlessness

Swollen or enlarged breasts

Unusual discharge from breasts

Mild and short-lived side effects

Nausea

Vomiting

Headaches

Muscle spasms

Asthenia (weakness or lack of energy)

Conjunctivitis

Stomatitis (inflammation of the mouth)

Abnormal liver function test

Increased cholesterol levels

Serious side effects (rare):

Sudden cardiac death

Serious ventricular arrhythmias

Allergic reactions (e.g., skin rash, itching, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, mouth, tongue, or throat)

Unusual heartbeats or sudden heart failure (higher risk in patients older than 60 years or taking more than three tablets daily)

Liver problems

Gallbladder disease

QT prolongation (rarely associated with serious cardiac complications)

Liver or kidney problems.
