Do’s

• Take Kombiglyze XR exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily with meals.
• Drink plenty of fluids while taking Kombiglyze XR unless your healthcare provider instructs you otherwise.
• Follow your diabetes management plan carefully, including diet, exercise, and other medications.
• Monitor your blood sugar regularly as directed by your healthcare provider and share the results with them. This helps them adjust your treatment plan if needed.
• Inform your healthcare provider about all medications and herbal products you take, including prescriptions and over-the-counter drugs, to avoid potential interactions.

Don'ts

• Do not crush, chew, or break them. Swallow the tablets whole. 
• Don't take more or less Kombiglyze XR than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
• Don't skip or stop taking Kombiglyze XR without consulting your healthcare provider.
• Don't neglect your diabetes management plan, including diet and exercise.

• Nausea

• Vomiting
• Stomach upset
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Metallic taste in the mouth

• Unusual tiredness
• Dizziness
• Severe drowsiness
• Chills
• Blue/cold skin
• Muscle pain
• Fast/difficult breathing
• Slow/irregular heartbeat
• Stomach pain with nausea/vomiting/diarrhea.
• Severe allergic reaction: This includes symptoms like hives, difficulty breathing, swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat. 
• Joint pain
• Unusual skin blisters
• Breath
• Swelling ankles/feet
• Unusual tiredness
• Unusual/sudden weight gain.

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Kombiglyze xr, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Disclose any allergies to saxagliptin, metformin, or other ingredients to your healthcare provider.

Discuss about your medical history, especially:

• Kidney disease
• Severe breathing problems
• Blood problems (anemia, vitamin B12 deficiency)
• Liver disease
• Pancreatitis or risk factors (gallstones, alcohol abuse, high blood fats)

Upcoming surgery or X-ray/scanning procedures using contrast dye

Blurred vision, dizziness, or drowsiness. Avoid activities requiring alertness until you know how it affects you.

It can increase the risk of lactic acidosis, pancreatitis, and low blood sugar.

Dehydration can worsen lactic acidosis risk. Drink plenty of fluids unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.

Stress can make blood sugar control more difficult. Consult your healthcare provider if needed.

Older adults may experience increased side effects.

Metformin may affect your menstrual cycle and increase pregnancy chances. Discuss reliable birth control with your healthcare provider.

Kombiglyze XR should only be used during pregnancy if clearly necessary. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding while taking Kombiglyze XR.
