Diclectin (Doxylamine/pyridoxine hcl)

Do’s

• Take exactly as prescribed: Follow your healthcare provider's instructions for dosage and frequency.
• Swallow whole: Don't crush, chew, or break the tablets.
• Take with or without food: Food can help reduce stomach upset, but Diclectin can be taken either way.
• Take consistently: Aim for similar times each day to maintain a steady medication level in your body.
• Continue taking even if you feel better: Diclectin works best when taken preventively for nausea and vomiting.

Don'ts

• Don't take more than prescribed: Exceeding the recommended dosage can be harmful.
• Don't take with alcohol or caffeine: These can worsen nausea.
• Don't stop taking it abruptly: Talk to your healthcare provider before discontinuing use, especially if pregnant.
• Don't use it if you're breastfeeding without consulting your healthcare provider: Diclectin may pass into breast milk.
• Don't operate machinery or drive if you experience drowsiness: This is a potential side effect.

Common Side Effects:

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Blurred vision
• Stomach upset
• Diarrhea
• Constipation
• Headache
• Trouble sleeping

Serious Side Effects:

• Mental/mood changes (such as confusion, irritability, nervousness)
• Trouble urinating
• Easy bruising/bleeding
• Fast/irregular heartbeat
• Seizure
• Signs of a serious allergic reaction (e.g., abdominal cramps, difficulty breathing, nausea and vomiting, or swelling of the face and throat)

Diclectin can cause drowsiness and reduced alertness. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or activities requiring alertness until you can do them safely.

These substances can worsen drowsiness caused by Diclectin. Limit alcohol consumption and discuss marijuana use with your healthcare provider.

Diclectin is generally considered safe during pregnancy, but consult your healthcare provider to discuss the risks and benefits.

It is unknown if Diclectin passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.

Diclectin may interact with other medications. Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you are taking, including prescription, non-prescription, and herbal remedies.

It may be more sensitive to side effects, especially dizziness, which can increase the risk of falls.

Store Diclectin at room temperature, protect it from light and moisture and keep it out of reach of children. Dispose of expired or unused medication properly.
