Stieva A Cream (Tretinoin)

Do’s

• Before applying Stieva A Cream, wash your hands. Then, gently clean the affected skin with a mild or soapless cleanser and pat it dry.
• Use your fingertips to apply a small amount of medication (about the size of a pea) in a thin layer as directed by your healthcare provider, usually once daily at bedtime.
• Apply the cream to all areas of your skin where there is acne, not just to the individual spots.
• During the first few weeks of using Stieva A Cream, your acne might appear worse because the medication is working on pimples forming inside the skin. It may take up to 8-12 weeks to notice results from this medication.
• Use the cream regularly at the same time each day to get the most benefit from it. 

Don’ts

• Take care not to apply too much Stieva A Cream, especially where it could run into your eyes, the angles of your nose, any skin folds, or other areas of the skin that do not require treatment.
• Do not apply the cream to the inner lip area or inside the nose/mouth.
• Avoid applying the cream to cut, scraped, sunburned, or eczema-affected skin.
• Avoid getting the cream in your eyes. If this happens, flush with large amounts of water and call your healthcare provider if eye irritation develops.
• Do not use a larger amount or use this cream more often than recommended, as it will not improve your skin any faster and may increase the risk of developing redness, peeling, and pain.

• Skin flaking
• Skin pain
• Itching
• Skin irritation
• Skin tenderness
• Burning feeling on the skin (especially when first applied)
• Stinging
• Dry skin
