Do’s

  • If you are using the over-the-counter version of Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray, carefully read and follow all directions on the product package before using the medication. If you have any questions, consult your pharmacist. If your healthcare provider has prescribed this medication, take it as directed.
  • Before starting to use Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. This will help you understand the proper use of the medication. If you have any questions, ask your healthcare provider.
  • Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray is intended for use in the nose. The usual recommended dosage is once a day, but your healthcare provider may provide specific instructions based on your condition.
  • Before using the spray, gently blow your nose to clear any mucus. Shake the spray device well before each use. Follow the package instructions to properly prime the spray.
  • Remove the protective cap from the spray device. Close one nostril by pressing it with your finger. Tilt your head as directed and carefully insert the nasal applicator into the other nostril. Press down firmly on the device to deliver the prescribed number of sprays. Breathe in gently through your nose and out through your mouth. Repeat the process in the other nostril. Replace the cap on the nasal inhaler.
  • The dosage of Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray is determined based on your medical condition and response to treatment. Younger children may require a smaller dose and assistance from an adult to use the medication properly.
  • Use this medication regularly to get the most benefit from it. Take it at the same time(s) each day.
  • Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray may not work immediately. Some individuals may feel the effects within one day, while for others, it may take up to one week before the full benefits of the drug are experienced. Consult your healthcare provider if you should use other medications (such as nose drops/spray or allergy drugs taken by mouth) along with Nasacort AQ Nasal Spray until it takes full effect.
  • Keep track of the number of sprays used from the device. Discard the device after you have used the number of sprays specified on the manufacturer's package.
  • Follow the package instructions to unblock or clean the spray device.
  • If your condition persists or worsens, or if you suspect a serious medical problem, seek medical help immediately.

  • Do not spray directly onto the middle wall of your nose (nasal septum).
