Do’s

Swallow capsules whole with meals and snacks, as directed by your healthcare provider.

Drink plenty of fluids while taking Creon 10, unless your healthcare provider advises otherwise.

Take Creon 10 regularly with every meal or snack for maximum benefit.

Follow your healthcare provider's recommended diet plan for optimal results.

Consult your healthcare provider if you have trouble swallowing capsules.

Don'ts

Don't crush, chew, or hold Creon 10 capsules in your mouth. This can irritate your mouth and affect how the medication works.

Don't mix Creon 10 with alkaline food or liquids like milk, ice cream, or tea.

Don't save the medication mixture for later use. Prepare it fresh each time.

Don't exceed the prescribed dosage. More Creon 10 won't improve your condition faster and might increase side effects.

Don't change Creon 10 brands or dosage forms without consulting your healthcare provider. Different brands might have varying enzyme content.

Don't hesitate to tell your healthcare provider if your symptoms persist or worsen.

Common side effects:

Increased blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) or decreased blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia)

Stomach pain

Frequent or abnormal bowel movements

Gas

Vomiting

Dizziness

Sore throat and cough

Changes in blood sugar levels

Abnormal stools (color, consistency, form, or smell)

Headache

Runny or stuffy nose

Serious side effects (seek medical attention):

Skin rash or hives

Bowel blockage

Diarrhea

Nausea

Stomach cramps or pain

Blood in the urine

Joint pain

Swelling of the feet or lower legs

This is not an exhaustive list, and other side effects may occur. If you experience any unusual or severe side effects while taking Creon 10, contact your healthcare provider for medical advice.

Inform your healthcare provider if you are allergic to pancrelipase, pork protein, or any ingredients in Creon 10.

Disclose any pre-existing medical conditions to your healthcare provider before using Creon 10, especially:

Sudden/severe pancreatitis (acute pancreatitis)

Worsening of long-term pancreatic disease

Gout

Kidney disease

High blood uric acid (hyperuricemia)

Intestinal problems (blockage)

Creon 10 may affect blood sugar levels. Monitor blood sugar regularly and discuss with your healthcare provider. They may need to adjust your diabetes medication, exercise regimen, or diet.

Inform your healthcare provider about all medications you take, including Creon 10, before any surgery.

Use Creon 10 only when clearly necessary during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare provider.

It is unknown if pancrelipase passes into breast milk. Consult your healthcare provider before breastfeeding.
