Coly Mycin M, also known as Colistimethate, is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria, effectively combating the infection.

It is typically used to treat bacterial infections caused by specific types of bacteria, such as Klebsiella aerogenes, Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Coly Mycin M should only be used to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria. It is not effective against viral infections such as the common cold or flu

Coly Mycin M is available as an injectable medication for intramuscular or intravenous administration

Do’s

  • Use Coly-Mycin M exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, including dosage, frequency, and administration method (injection or inhalation).
  • If administering the injection yourself at home, undergo proper training from your healthcare provider on preparation and usage techniques.
  • Before using the injection solution, check for particles or discoloration. Discard the solution if any are present.
  • Learn how to store and safely dispose of used needles, syringes, and vials.
  • If using for inhalation, receive proper instructions on preparing the solution and using the nebulizer machine effectively.
