Benzaclin Gel is a combination medication used to treat a certain type of acne (inflammatory acne vulgaris). It helps to decrease the number of acne pimples.  Benzaclin Gel is a combination of Clindamycin and Benzoyl. Clindamycin, an antibiotic, stops the growth of acne-causing bacteria, while benzoyl peroxide can also stop the growth of bacteria and reduce oil production in the skin, helping keep pores open.

  • Wash the affected area with a gentle, non-medicated cleanser and lukewarm water before applying Benzaclin Gel. Pat the area dry thoroughly.
  • Apply a thin layer of Benzaclin Gel to the affected areas as directed by your healthcare provider.
  • Be cautious to avoid your eyes, mouth, inside your nose, and any broken skin when applying the gel.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after each use of Benzaclin Gel.
  • Use Benzaclin Gel regularly at the same time(s) each day for optimal benefit.
  • It may take up to 6 weeks to see improvement and 12 weeks to see the full effect of the medication.
  • Inform your healthcare provider if your acne doesn't improve or worsens.

  • Don't increase the dosage or use Benzaclin Gel more often than prescribed. This won't accelerate improvement and might cause side effects.
  • Don't skip doses of Benzaclin Gel.
