Flagystatin Vaginal Cream: Treating Yeast Infections

Flagystatin vaginal cream is used for the treatment of vaginal infection, urinary tract infections, amebic dysentery, amebic liver abscess; infections of the abdomen, skin, bones and joints, brain, lungs, and heart caused by certain bacteria. It is a mixture of two ingredients, metronidazole and nystatin, both work against bacteria that cause fungal infections in the vagina.
Before using Flagystatin, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding; if you are taking any prescription medicine, nonprescription medicine, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements; if you have any medical conditions like kidney disease, liver disease, blood disorders, neurological disorders or pancreatic disease.
Not to be used if:

  • you are allergic to Flagystatin or its ingredients;
  • you have an underactive thyroid;
  • you have a history of blood disorders;
  • you have an inactive neurological disorder; or
  • inactive adrenal glands.

Dosage

The recommended dose is 1 vaginal insert or 1 full applicator of cream daily inserted deep into the vagina before bedtime, for 10 consecutive days. If you are using the vaginal insert first moisten the vagina with water so that it is easily dissolved.
