Cell phone Radiation: Tumors

Cell phones have recently been considered as the biggest public health issue since tobacco. Science research has uncovered the risks of cell phone use. They have been suspicious that radiation from cell phones and other wireless devices can cause brain tumors, harm blood cells, and even damage DNA.

A major study by Dr. David Carpenter showed that people who use cell phones double their risk of developing brain cancer and acoustic neuromas. Those who start using a cell phone before the age of 20 were more than five times as likely to develop brain cancer. When you use a cell phone, 70% of the energy (including radiation waves) from the phone is transmitted and absorbed into your head. This may alter the natural electrical activity in the brain for up to an hour after cell use.

Children are at the highest risk of radiation. A child’s brain is not fully developed, and their skull thickness is on average 1 1/2 mm thinner than an adult. This means that the electromagnetic radiation (EMR) is more dangerous to a child because the EMR absorption rate is higher.

Bluetooth and other hands-free headsets are just as bad. These devices require more energy and have higher EMR. A new product called Blue Tube Headset was made specifically to minimize EMR. It’s designed to keep EMR emitting devices as far away from your head as possible while minimizing the radiation emitted through the device.

To minimize EMR, try to reduce your cell phone/iPhone use, use a landline when possible, turn your cell phone off when it’s not in use, keep your cell phone away from your body, and use safe headset technology!
