Emerade Auto Injector (Adrenaline Tartrate)

Do's

• Remove the cap: Take off the cap from the Emerade auto injector.
• Place and press: Hold the Emerade firmly against the outer thigh at a 90-degree angle. Push the injector down firmly so the needle goes into your thigh. You will hear a click when it activates.
• Hold and massage: Hold the Emerade auto injector pressed against your thigh for 5 seconds. Then, gently massage the injection site.
• Seek medical help: Call emergency services (e.g., call 112 or your local emergency number) immediately after using Emerade.
• Show the injector: If possible, show the used Emerade auto injector to medical personnel when they arrive.

Don'ts

• Don't panic: Stay calm and follow the steps carefully.
• Don't inject into buttocks: Don't inject Emerade into your buttocks. Use the outer thigh muscle.
• Don't remove the needle: Leave the needle in your thigh after the injection.
• Don't rub the injection site: Avoid rubbing the injection area excessively.
• Don't reuse the injector: Emerade is a single-use auto injector. Don't attempt to reuse it.

Common Side Effects (usually mild and go away within minutes):

• Anxiety or nervousness

• Tremor (shaking)
• Headache
• Palpitations (feeling like your heart is racing)
• Sweating
• Nausea
• Paleness

Serious Side Effects (Seek medical attention immediately):

• Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis): This is a rare but life-threatening reaction. Symptoms can include:
  • Difficulty breathing or wheezing
  • Swelling of the face, tongue, or throat
  • Dizziness or fainting
  • Weak pulse
  • Chest pain or tightness
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Skin rash or hives
• Chest pain, tightness, or pressure
• Irregular heartbeat
• Seizures: In rare cases, Emerade auto injector use can trigger seizures.
