Creon 25 is indicated for pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy in both pediatric and adult patients with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency (PEI).

PEI is often associated with conditions such as cystic fibrosis, chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic surgery, gastrointestinal bypass surgery, and ductal obstruction of the pancreas or common bile duct

Creon 25 contains lipases, proteases, and amylases, which are digestive enzymes naturally produced by the pancreas.

The enzymes in Creon 25 help break down fats, proteins, and carbohydrates into smaller parts, which can then be absorbed by the body for energy, nutrition, and growth.

Do’s

  • Take Creon 25 capsules with meals and snacks exactly as directed by your healthcare provider. This ensures the enzymes work best to aid digestion during food intake.
  • Swallow the capsules whole. Crushing, chewing, or opening them can irritate your mouth and affect how the medication works.
  • Drink plenty of fluids while taking Creon 25, unless your healthcare provider instructs otherwise. This helps move the enzymes through your digestive system.
  • Take Creon 25 regularly with every meal or snack for optimal benefit. Consistency helps maintain proper enzyme levels in your gut.
  • Follow your healthcare provider's recommended diet plan for managing your digestive condition. Creon 25 works best when combined with a proper diet.
  • Consult your healthcare provider if you have difficulty swallowing the capsules. They may have alternative solutions.

Don'ts

  • Don't exceed the prescribed dosage of Creon 25. More capsules won't improve your condition faster and might increase side effects.
  • Don't mix Creon 25 with alkaline food or liquids like milk, ice cream, or tea. This can deactivate the enzymes.
  • Don't save a mixture of Creon 25 with food or liquid for later use. Prepare it fresh each time you take a dose.
  • Don't change brands or dosage forms of Creon 25 without your healthcare provider's approval. Different brands might have varying enzyme content.
  • Don't hesitate to tell your healthcare provider if your symptoms persist or worsen after taking Creon 25. This could indicate an underlying issue.
