  • Lung infections such as pneumonia and bronchitis
  • Urinary tract infections such as cystitis
  • Throat infections such as tonsillitis
  • Skin infections
  • Sexually transmitted infections

Do’s

  • Before starting Vibra-Tab and each time you get a refill, read the Patient Information Leaflet provided by your pharmacist. If you have any questions, ask your healthcare provider.
  • Vibra-Tab is best taken by mouth on an empty stomach, at least 1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal. This is usually directed by your healthcare provider and may be taken once or twice daily.
  • Take Vibra-Tab with a full glass of water (8 ounces/240 milliliters), unless directed otherwise by your healthcare provider.
  • If stomach upset occurs, taking Vibra-Tab with food or milk may help alleviate the discomfort. However, doxycycline may not work as effectively if taken with food or milk, especially if they are high in calcium. Consult with your healthcare provider to determine if taking it with food or milk is suitable for you.
  • Vibra-Tab can interact with certain products, such as those containing aluminum, calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc, or bismuth subsalicylate. Take Vibra-Tab 2 to 3 hours before or after taking these products to ensure proper absorption of the medication. Examples of such products include antacids, didanosine solution, quinapril, vitamins/minerals, dairy products (such as milk, yogurt), and calcium-enriched juice.
  • If Vibra-Tab is being used to prevent malaria, it is typically taken once daily, starting 1 to 2 days before travel to a malarious area. It should be continued daily while in the area and for 4 more weeks upon returning home. If you are unable to complete the full course of Vibra-Tab, contact your healthcare provider for further guidance.
  • If using the liquid form of Vibra-Tab, shake the bottle well before each dose. The dosage for children may be based on their weight. Follow the instructions provided by the healthcare provider.
  • Continue taking Vibra-Tab until the full prescribed amount is finished, even if symptoms improve or disappear after a few days. Stopping the medication too early may result in a return of the infection.
