This product is a combination of three medications: efavirenz, emtricitabine, and tenofovir.

It is used either alone or with other HIV medications to help control HIV infection by reducing the amount of HIV in the body, thereby enabling the immune system to function more effectively. This ultimately reduces the risk of HIV-related complications and enhances the individual's quality of life.

Efavirenz belongs to the class of drugs known as non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs), while emtricitabine and tenofovir belong to the class of drugs known as nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs).

These medications work by targeting different stages of the HIV replication process, thereby inhibiting the virus's ability to multiply and spread within the body.
