Vermox Suspension is indicated for the treatment of helminth (worm) infestations caused by various types of worms, including roundworms, pinworms, hookworms, whipworms, and threadworms.
Vermox contains the active ingredient called mebendazole, which belongs to a group of medicines called anthelmintics. Mebendazole works by preventing the worms from being able to absorb sugars that are essential for their survival.
By limiting or completely blocking the absorption of sugars, Vermox Suspension depletes the energy stores of the worms, eventually leading to their death. The dead worms are then expelled from the body through the gastrointestinal tract and eliminated in the stool.
Do’s
- Shake the bottle thoroughly before each use to ensure an even mix of the medication.
- You can take Vermox suspension with or without food.
- Take the medication exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider, including dosage, frequency, and duration.
Don'ts
- Don't exceed dosage. Never take more Vermox suspension than prescribed by your healthcare provider.
- Don't share medication. Don't share your Vermox suspension with others.
- Don't skip or stop early. Take the full course of medication, even if you start to feel better. Stopping early can increase the risk of infection recurrence.
- Don't use a household spoon for measurement. Use the measuring cup provided to measure the exact dose prescribed by your healthcare provider.
Common Side Effects:

- Diarrhea
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Dizziness
- Headache
- Rash or itching
Serious Side Effects:
- Signs of an allergic reaction, such as difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or hives
- Severe stomach pain
- Persistent or severe diarrhea
- Unusual bleeding or bruising
- Yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)

While rare, allergic reactions to Vermox can occur. Be aware of any unusual symptoms after taking the medication.
Take Vermox suspension exactly as prescribed by your healthcare provider regarding dosage, frequency, and duration of treatment.
Don't skip or stop taking Vermox suspension early, even if you feel better. Completing the full prescribed course is essential to ensure complete eradication of the worms.
Vermox treats the worm infection, but it won't prevent reinfection. Practice good hygiene measures like frequent handwashing to prevent the spread of worms.
People with pinworm infections may be contagious to others. Family members may also require treatment to prevent reinfection. Consult your healthcare provider for advice.
Vermox may cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, or headache. These are usually mild and temporary.
