Pred Forte is used to treat certain eye conditions due to inflammation or injury. It is specifically designed to relieve symptoms such as swelling, redness, and itching, providing targeted relief for eye-related inflammation and discomfort.

Prednisolone, the active ingredient in Pred Forte, belongs to a class of drugs known as corticosteroids. It works by exerting anti-inflammatory effects, thereby alleviating the symptoms associated with eye inflammation and injury.

Do’s

  • Use Pred Forte exactly as directed by your healthcare provider, typically 2-4 times a day in the affected eye(s).
  • Wash your hands thoroughly before using the eye drops.
  • Shake the bottle well if it's a suspension.
  • Tilt your head back, pull down your lower eyelid to create a pouch, and apply the prescribed number of drops.
  • Gently close your eye for 1-2 minutes, applying pressure near the corner of your eye to prevent drainage.
  • Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface.
  • Use Pred Forte at consistent times throughout the day.
  • Continue using Pred Forte for the entire prescribed duration, even if symptoms improve.
  • Inform your healthcare provider if your condition worsens or doesn't improve after 2 days of use.

Don'ts

  • Don't use Pred Forte while wearing contact lenses unless your healthcare provider approves. If they do, remove the lenses before application and wait at least 15 minutes before reinserting them.
  • Don't rinse the dropper after use. Replace the cap securely.
  • Don't use Pred Forte more often or for longer than prescribed.
  • Don't stop using Pred Forte abruptly without consulting your healthcare provider.
  • Don't use Pred Forte if it appears contaminated (discolored).
