Exelon is used to manage confusion (dementia) associated with Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. Exelon does not cure either disease. While not a cure, Exelon may help improve memory, awareness, and the ability to perform daily functions in individuals with these conditions. Exelon works by restoring the balance of natural chemicals in the brain called neurotransmitters.

Do's

  • Use the provided syringe to accurately measure your prescribed dose.
  • Swallow the medication directly from the syringe. Alternatively, mix it with water, cold fruit juice and soda (limited options).
  • Stir well and consume the entire mixture within 4 hours.
  • Consult your healthcare provider for guidance if you have any questions or concerns about using Exelon.
  • Consume Exelon with food as directed by your healthcare provider, typically twice daily (morning and evening).

Your healthcare provider will determine the appropriate dose based on your specific health condition and how you respond to the medication. To minimize side effects, your healthcare provider might start with a low dose and gradually increase it over 2-4 weeks.
