Do’s

Neo-Mercazole Ingredients

Active ingredient: carbimazole 5 mg
Inactive ingredients: lactose, maize starch, sucrose, magnesium stearate, talc, gum acacia, ferric
oxide, propyl hydroxybenzoate, gelatin.

Common Side Effects:

Warnings

Neo-Mercazole should be used during pregnancy only when propylthiouracil is not suitable. The dosage of Neo-Mercazole may need to be adjusted during pregnancy due to the raised basal metabolic rate.

Patients who are unable to comply with the instructions for use or cannot be monitored regularly should not be treated with Neo-Mercazole. Regular full blood count checks should be carried out in patients who may be confused or have poor memory.

Neo-Mercazole should not be taken by patients with rare hereditary problems of galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption.

Precautions should be taken in patients with intrathoracic goiter, as it may worsen during initial treatment with Neo-Mercazole. Tracheal obstruction may occur due to an intrathoracic goiter.

How to store Neo-Mercazole

Keep all medicines out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use after the expiry date printed on the carton and bottle label after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month. Do not store above 25°C. Store in the original container.
