Tell your doctor if you have liver disease, kidney disease, osteopenia, or if you have a hepatitis B infection. Also, Truvada is expected to harm an unborn baby, and harm a baby that is breast-feeding. Tell your doctor if you are or may become pregnant. Do not have unprotected sex and avoid sharing needles, razors, or toothbrushes. Truvada is expected to harm an unborn baby, and will most likely harm a baby that is breast-feeding from someone taking the medication. If you have Hepatitis B you may develop liver symptoms once you stop taking Truvada. Call for immediate medical help if you experience any of these symptoms of lactic acidosis: muscle pain or weakness; numb or cold feeling in your arms and legs; trouble breathing; feeling dizzy, light-headed, tired, or very weak; stomach pain, nausea with vomiting; or slow or uneven heart rate. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these serious side effects: allergic reaction; signs of liver damage, increase thirst and urination, loss of appetite, weakness, constipation; urinating less than usual or not at all; or signs of infection such as fever, chills, skin lesions, or cough with yellow or green mucus. Less serious side effects include: dizziness, anxiety, depressed mood; headache, tired feeling; sleep problems, strange dreams; mild nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, upset stomach; mild itching or skin rash; darkened skin on the palms of the hands or the soles of the feet; joint pain, back pain; numbness or tingly feeling; runny or stuffy nose, cough; or changes in the shape or location of body fat.
