This medication combines female hormones and prevent the release of an egg from an ovary. Also this medication works to make it more difficult for sperm to reach the uterus by changing the cervical mucus and uterine lining.

How should Trivora /levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol be stored?

Trivora tablets should be stored at room temperature in an area that is protected from moisture and heat.

How should I take Trivora/levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol ?

Follow your doctor's directions when taking this medication. On top of using birth control you may also require use of condoms or spermicidal in the beginning stages of this medication. 28 day birth control pills are equipped with 7 days of a placebo pill called 'reminder pills.'

When should Trivora /levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol not be taken?

If you are currently pregnant or you have given birth recently do not use this medication. If you have had a stroke, blood clot, circulation difficulties, or a hormone related cancer, liver disease, liver cancer, severe hypertension, or migraines you should not use this medication. If you have had a heart valve disorder, or a history of jaundice or abnormal vaginal bleeding you should not take this medication.

What precautions should I follow when taking Trivora /levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol ?

Tell your doctor about any medications you are taking. Inform your doctor of all your medical history. Inform your doctor especially if you have high cholesterol, a history of depression, gallbladder disease, diabetes, seizures, irregular menstrual cycles, or tuberculosis.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Trivora /levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol ?

Taking this medication may cause blood clots, heart attack, or stroke especially in people over 35 and in those who smoke. This medication can cause birth defects in children. Do not take this medication if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The hormones in this medication can pass through breast milk and harm a nursing baby.
