How should I take Ranexa/Ranolanzine ?

Always follow the instructions your doctor has given you when taking Ranexa. Ranexa may be taken with or without food. Do not crush, chew, break, or open a controlled-release, delayed-release, or extended-release tablet or capsule. Swallow it whole.

When should Ranexa /Ranolanzine not be taken?

Avoid using Ranexa if you have liver disease, or if you are taking certain medications to treat heart rhythm disorders, infections, HIV, AIDS, seizures, mental illness, pain, cancer, or stomach disorders.

What precautions should I follow when taking Ranexa /Ranolanzine ?

Talk to your doctor about any medical condition you have or any medications you are taking. Make sure your doctor knows if you have a personal or family history of “Long QT syndrome.” Ranexa is not for use during an emergency attack of angina. It is unknown whether or not Ranexa will harm an unborn baby or if it is able to pass into the breast-milk and harm a nursing child.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Ranexa /Ranolanzine ?

Ranexa may impair you thinking and reactions. Be careful when driving or participating in any activity that requires you to be awake and alert. Grapefruit and grapefruit juice may interact with Ranexa and lead to potentially dangerous effects.

When should Ranexa /Ranolanzine not be taken?

Serious side effects may include: severe allergic reaction; feeling like you might pass out; swelling in your hands, ankles, or feet; slow, fast, or pounding heartbeats; tremors or shaking; blood in your urine; urinating less than usual or not at all; sho

Less severe side effects may include: mild dizziness, spinning sensation, headache; dry mouth; mild nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation; weakness; or ringing in your ears.
