What is Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan used for?

Exforge is used to relax the muscles of your heart and blood vessels in order to lower your blood pressure and improve the flow of your blood in your veins and capillaries. Exforge is used in patients who have high blood pressure, especially those who did not respond to other treatments of hypertension.

How should Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan be stored?

Exforge should be stored at room temperature in a cool, dry location.

How should I take Exforge/Amlodipine/Valsartan ?

Take Exforge exactly as it was prescribed to you by your health care provider. Take each dose with a full glass of water. If this medication does not seem to be helping improve your symptoms inform your doctor immediately. You may require exams and checkups regarding the condition and functioning of your kidney. Even if you are not experiencing any symptoms regarding high blood pressure you should not stop using this medication without consulting a doctor first.

When should Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan not be taken?

If you have any allergies to an ingredient in Exforge, do not use this medication. If you have any other allergies to other drugs, inform your doctor before using this medication. If you are pregnant do not take this medication.

What precautions should I follow when taking Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan ?

If you are undergoing any surgeries or kidney dialysis inform your doctor and surgeon that you are using this medication prior to the scheduled appointment. If you have kidney disease, liver disease, congestive heart failure, angina, coronary artery disease, or have recently had a heart attack inform your doctor before using this medication. If you experience common problems of vomiting and diarrhea, inform your doctor of this before using Exforge. Because this medication may cause dizziness, be cautious when standing up as you may experience extreme dizziness.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan ?

If you are pregnant do not use this medication. It could cause injuries to the growing fetus and may be even fatal to the unborn baby. If you are taking Estrace while sexually active, use birth control methods and inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant. Do not use potassium supplements or salt substitutes while using this medication unless directed to by your doctor. If you experience any of the severe side effects listed below immediately contact a health care professional. Exforge in very rare cases may cause a breakdown of skeletal muscle tissue and lead to kidney failure. If this is happening you may experience muscle pain or weakness, fever, nausea, vomiting, or darkened urine.

When should Exforge /Amlodipine/Valsartan not be taken?

Severe: Faint sensation, swelling in your hands or feet, rapid weight gain, quickened or hammering heartbeats, jaundice, chest pain or heavy feeling, nausea, sweating, general ill feeling.

Common: Dizziness, spinning sensation, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, cough, warmth or tingly feeling on your skin, diarrhea, constipation, stomach pain, dry mouth, loss of appetite, muscle pain, or anxiety, sleep problems (insomnia).

Other: None.
