How should I take Copegus/Ribavirine ?

Take Copegus exactly as prescribed to you by your doctor, or use the instructions provided on the label. Always use at least two forms of birth control if your sexual partner is using this medication and continue the use of birth control until at least six months after your partner has finished using this medication.

When should Copegus /Ribavirine not be taken?

Do not take this medication if you are pregnant, or in men, if your sexual partner is pregnant. If you have severe liver disease, autoimmune hepatitis, or a hemoglobin disorder do not use this medication.

What precautions should I follow when taking Copegus /Ribavirine ?

If you have any of the following conditions you should consult with your doctor weather this medication is right for you before commencing use of this medication: liver or kidney disease, hepatitis B infection; a blood cell disorder, cancer, psoriasis, diabetes, sarcoidosis, a thyroid disorder, hepatitis B, HIV or AIDS, a history of heart disease, a history of high blood pressure, a history of heart attacks; a history of depression a history of drug or alcohol addiction, or a history of an organ transplant.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Copegus /Ribavirine ?

If you have pale skin or yellowed skin, darker urine, a fever, confusion, chest pain, shortness of breath, or weakness immediately call your doctor as this may be anemia.

Severe: pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, easy bruising or bleeding, confusion, or unusual weakness, severe depression, hallucinations, thoughts of suicide or hurting yourself; fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms, trouble breathing; severe bl

Less serious side effects may include: feeling tired or irritable; dry mouth, cough; headache, dizziness; hearing or vision problems; hair loss, dry skin, rash, itching; joint or muscle pain; or difficulty sleeping.
