How should I take Bentyl/Dicyclomine ?

Take this medication as directed to by your health care provider. Take the tablets with a complete glass of water. When taking the liquid form of this medication use a special measuring device to be sure that you get the correct amount of medication.

When should Bentyl /Dicyclomine not be taken?

If you have allergies to Bentyl or any of the ingredients of this medication do not take it. If you have any obstructions in your esophagus, stomach, intestine, or urinary tract; have heart problems as a product of bleeding; have glaucoma or myasthenia gravis, or have any inflammation of the esophagus do not use Bentyl. If you are breastfeeding do not use Bentyl.

What precautions should I follow when taking Bentyl /Dicyclomine ?

Prior to using Bentyl inform your health care provider if you are pregnant, planning on becoming pregnant, breastfeeding, or are taking any other medications. If you have allergies to any substance (medical or not medical) or you have heart conditions, or high blood pressure inform your health care provider before taking.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Bentyl /Dicyclomine ?

Do not take antacids while using Bentyl. You vision may be impaired by the use of this drug.

When should Bentyl /Dicyclomine not be taken?

Severe: Heart attack; heart rhythm problems; heart block; stroke; mania or hypomania; heart failure.

Common: Drowsiness, lightheadedness, head pain, or unclear vision.
