Angeliq is used to treat the symptoms of menopause, such as hot flashes and vaginal changes. Angeliq may also be used to prevent osteoporosis or the symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

What precautions should I follow when taking Angeliq /Drospirenone/Estradiol ?

Let your doctor know if you have any medical conditions especially if you have: a history of liver disease; a history of jaundice during pregnancy or while using birth control pills; kidney disease; adrenal insufficiency; hemophilia or other bleeding disorder; a history of stroke or blood clot; unusual vaginal bleeding; or any type of breast, uterine, or hormone-dependent cancer.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Angeliq /Drospirenone/Estradiol ?

You may not be able to use Angeliq, or you may require a dosage adjustment if you have any of the following: high blood pressure, angina, heart disease, high cholesterol or triglycerides; liver or kidney disease; asthma; epilepsy; migraines, depression; diabetes; gallbladder disease; uterine fibroids; or you have had a hysterectomy. Do not take Angeliq if you are pregnant or may become pregnant. Tell your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or are breast-feeding. Estradiol may increase the risk of developing a condition that can lead to uterine cancer. Report any unusual bleeding to your doctor immediately.
