Alocril is used to treat eye symptoms of allergic reactions like inflammation, itching, watering, redness, and burning. Alocril is an antihistamine medication that stops processes in the body that cause allergic reactions after exposure to an allergen.

How should Alocril Eyedrops /Nedocromil be stored?

Store Alocril at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle capped tightly. Do not use or keep expired medicine.

How should I take Alocril Eyedrops/Nedocromil ?

Use Alocril as directed by your doctor. With clean hands, remove the safety seal and cap from the bottle. Sit with your head back and pull down your lower eyelid while looking up. Position the eye dropper as close as possible to you without touching your eye and gently squeeze out the amount of drops that were prescribed to you. Blink several times to make sure your whole eye is covered in solution and wipe away and excess medicine with a tissue. Do the same for your other eye if you were instructed to by a doctor. Replace the cap tightly after use.

When should Alocril Eyedrops /Nedocromil not be taken?

Do not use Alocril Eyedrops if you have a bacterial, viral, or fungal infection in your eye unless you are also being treated properly with an anti-infective treatment. Do not use Alocril Eyedrops if you are pregnant without talking to your doctor. This medication is not approved for use by children under three years of age.

What precautions should I follow when taking Alocril Eyedrops /Nedocromil ?

Tell your doctor if you are pregnant before taking Alocril eye drops. It is unlikely that this medication can harm an unborn baby, but do not take this medication without first telling your doctor if you are pregnant. Alocril may pass into breast milk. Do not use this medication if you are breastfeeding a baby. Tell your doctor if you use contact lenses before using Alocril.

What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Alocril Eyedrops /Nedocromil ?

Do not touch the eye dropper to any surface, including your eyes and hands. The dropper is sterile and if it becomes contaminated it could cause an infection in your eye. Do not wear contact lenses during treatment with Alocril. Do not use other eye medications without first talking to your doctor. Tell your doctor about any prescription and non-prescription medications that you use before using Alocril.

When should Alocril Eyedrops /Nedocromil not be taken?

Serious side effects are not expected with this medication. Stop using Alocril and seek emergency medical attention if you have any signs of an allergic reaction including: hives, rash, difficulty breathing, tightness in the chest, or swelling of the mou

Less serious side effects include: eye burning, stinging, irritation, itching, or redness; sensitivity to light; headache; unpleasant taste; or nasal congestion.
