It is essentially an enzyme that aids the stomach in the digestion of milk sugars.Lactaid Extra Strength Tablets should be kept at room temperature in an area that is protected from heat. Lactaid tablets should not be refrigerated. Take Lactaid tablets before eating any foods containing lactose. When starting this medication, take two tablets to begin with and adjust amount of medication to meet your needs. Generally, taking four tablets at a time will prevent any lactose intolerance symptoms.
