Ciprodex Product Description

Ciprodex Otic is used as a treatment for bacterial ear infections. Ciprodex Otic is used as a treatment for middle ear infections in children with ear tubes, and outer ear infections (commonly referred to as swimmer's ear) in children and adults. Keep Ciprodex Otic stored at room temperature between 59-86ºF, and keep away from light and moisture. Do not freeze. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets. For middle ear infections. Wash your hands thoroughly. Tilt the child's head so the infected ear is face up. Hold the dropper over the ear and place the correct number of crops into the ear. Press down on the cartilage that partially covers the ear 5 times in a pumping motion. Keep the head tilted for at minimum 1 minute or insert a soft cotton plug. When treating outer ear infections, wash your hands thoroughly. Have the patient tilt their head so the infected ear is face up. Hold the dropper over the ear and place the correct number of drops into the ear. Gently pull the earlobe up and down while applying the medication. Keep the head tilted for at least 1 minute or put in a soft cotton plug.Talk with your doctor as you may be allergic to some of the chemicals in Ciprodex Otic and the medication may not be safe for you to take. Do not take Ciprodex Otic if your infected ear becomes wet often. Avoid driving, operating machinery or any activities that require alertness and balance. Avoid getting water inside the infected ear. Swimming is not recommended.Ear infections can cause dizziness or a loss of balance. Therefore, driving, operating machinery, or anything else that could be hazardous should be avoided. Try to avoid baths and swimming.Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of the following: an allergic reaction (normal signs are: difficulty breathing; closing of the throat; swelling of the lips, tongue, or face; or hives); skin rash; or ear drainage, discharge, or worsening pain. Less serious side effects include: ear discomfort, such as itching; unusual taste in your mouth. If you have any concerns or experience anything you find strange talk to your doctor.
