Micardis HCT is used to treat high blood pressure. This medication is composed of a combination of angiotensin II receptor blocker and diuretic. It works by relaxing blood vessels and decrease blood pressure allowing the kidneys to eliminate fluid and sodium from the body.Store at 77 degrees F. It can also be briefly stored at temperatures between 59 and 86 degrees F. Protect from moisture, heat, and light. Do not store in the bathroom and keep away from children and pets.How much medicine you take and how often you take it depend on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Carefully read the information provided with this medicine and reread it each time you get this prescription refilled. Take this medicine exactly as prescribed by your health care provider. This medicine may be taken with or without food. Only remove the tablet from the blister if you are ready to take it immediately. It is recommended to drink extra fluids when taking Micardis HCT. When first taking the medication, you may experience an increased amount of urine or cause you to urinate often. It is a good idea to take the medication before 6pm therefore you will not disturb your sleep. Do not miss any doses, continue to take the medication even if you feel better. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue your regular dosing schedule. Do not double up on doses.Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine or to similar medications such as sulfonamide (ie. Sulfamethoxazole).
