Differin Gel

Differin Gel Product Description

Differin is a medication used to treat severe acne in patients over the age of 12 years old. It works by decreasing the formation of acne and helps renew the skin. Store at room temperature. Keep away from heat, moisture, children and pets.Read the directions on the prescription label. Do not take larger or more frequent doses than prescribed by your doctor. Take this medication as directed on the label or by your pharmacist, doctor, or other healthcare provider. Before applying on Differin, wash your hands and treated skin area with a mild cleanser. Do not use soap. Dry the treated skin area with a clean, dry towel. Apply a thin layer of the Differin gel or cream onto the entire face or other affected skin areas as directed by your doctor. Use Differin gel or cream once a day. Continue using this medication even if you think it is not working because it may take several weeks or months before your skin improves. When first using Differin gel or cream, your skin may get slightly worse for a short time. Call your doctor if your acne does not improve within 8 to 12 weeks or skin irritation becomes severe. Do not apply Differin gel or cream on sunburned, windburned, dry, irritated, broken, or chapped skin. Also do not use this medication on wounds, on areas where eczema is present, or with skin products containing glycolic acid or alpha hydroxyl. Before taking Differin, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding; are taking prescription or over the counter medication, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements; if you have any allergies to drugs.Patients using Differin gel or cream should avoid using ski products that causes irritation including harsh soaps, shampoos, skin cleaners, hair coloring or permanent chemicals, hair removers or waxes, skin products with alcohol, spices, astringents or lime, or any other skin products unless otherwise directed by your doctor. After applying on Differin gel or cream, avoid sunlight exposure or artificial UV rays such as tanning beds or sunlamps because the medication may make your skin become more sensitive to sunlight resulting in sunburn.
