Menopur is part of the Assisted Reproduction Technology (ART) program, treating infertility in men and women. It is a combination of hormones (follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH)) that stimulates ovaries to produce eggs for women and sperm production for men.
Speak with your doctor if you might be pregnant or breastfeeding, have a thyroid problem, undiagnosed vaginal bleeding, ovarian cysts or enlargement, cancer or a tumor of the breast, ovary, uterus, hypothalamus, or pituitary gland, or any other serious or chronic medical illness. Make sure you are not pregnant, you can not use menopur if you are pregnant. Menopur increases the chances of multiple fetuses (ex. Twins, triplets, etc), make sure you speak with your doctor about the additional risks for both mother and fetuses.

Let your doctor know if you are taking any prescription or non-prescription medication, herbal preparation, or dietary supplements if you are allergic to medicines, foods, or other substances, and if you have liver or kidney problems, thyroid or adrenal gland problems, or bleeding problems (eg. Hemorrhage).

What I should know before taking Menopur?

If you are using Menopur with other medicines or with alcohol, avoid driving, operating any machinery, or do anything that could be dangerous until you know how you react to Menopur. Menopur may cause dizziness also, so avoid operating any machinery including driving is necessary. Menopur is an injection medication, do not reuse needles, syringes or any other materials used to prepare medication. Make sure all materials are disposed of properly after use. Confirm with your doctor that you are not pregnant before using Menopur, pregnancy must be ruled out before you use Menopur. Keep all doctor and lab appointments to closely monitor pregnancy tests and hormone levels. Elderly using Menopur should use with caution. You may be more sensitive to its side effects. It is not recommended for children to use Menopur because the safety and effectiveness of the medication have not been confirmed.
Do not use the medication if the vial is cracked, damaged, or the medication is discolored or contains particles. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water before and after the preparation of medication.

How do I use Menopur?

Read the pamphlets and label on the medication and use medication as prescribed by your doctor. When your Menopur formula is intended for intramuscular injection (an injection into the muscle), do not inject it subcutaneously (under the skin) and vice versa. Do not inject medication if you are not sure how. Make sure a healthcare professional shows you how to use the medication properly. You can use medication at your doctor’s office, hospital, clinic, or at home.

When using Menopur at home:

Draw up diluent into a syringe. Add the diluent to the powder by slowly pushing in the plunger of the syringe. Mix the solution by slowly rotating the container. Do not shake.

Draw up the solution for injection. Use a different syringe or needle for the injection. Needles with a higher gauge (25 g or higher) are smaller and less painful to the patient. Be sure all air bubbles are tapped out of the syringe.
Wipe the site with an alcohol swab and then insert the syringe through the skin at the appropriate injection site (usually the upper thigh or buttocks). While holding the syringe in place, pull back on the plunger of the syringe to be sure the needle is not in a vein.
If the syringe begins to fill with blood, the needle is in a vein. If this happens, remove the needle from the skin, throw the syringe away, and start the procedure again using new materials (eg, medicine, syringes).
After giving the injection, cover the site with a small bandage if necessary.
If you miss a dose of Menopur, contact your doctor for instructions.

What are the side effects of Menopur?

Contact your doctor right away if you experience any of these severe side effects:

Abdominal pain
Back pain
Breast enlargement
Chills
Dizziness
Fever
Flu-like symptoms
Flushing
General body discomfort
Headache
Menstrual changes
Muscle or joint pain
Pain or rash at the injection site

Contact your doctor if the following common side effects persist or become bothersome:

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue)
Abdominal bloating
Changes in speech or vision
Chest pain
Decreased urination
Diarrhea
Fast heartbeat
Nausea
One-sided weakness
Severe abdominal pain
Severe headache
Shortness of breath
Sudden leg pain
Vomiting
Weakness
Weight gain
Yellowing of the skin or eyes.

Pacerone is used to help treat people with ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation, life-threatening heart rhythm disorders of the ventricles (the lower chambers of the heart that allow blood to flow out of the heart). Patients who use Pacerone have fast heartbeats or an irregular rhythm by maintaining normal heart rates.
Before using this, tell your doctor if you are allergic to Pacerone or any other medicine or substance. Let your doctor know if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding. In addition, inform your doctor if you have liver disease, lung diseases, thyroid problems, low levels of potassium or magnesium in the blood, certain heart conditions such as “AV block,” or a history of slow heartbeats.

Precaution while using Pacerone:

You must get your blood test done on a regular basis.
Thyroid and liver function must be tested during the treatment and eye exams and chest x-rays also must be checked while using Pacerone.
Do not use Pacerone with alcohol or certain medicines as it may cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or blurred vision so do not drive or perform other unsafe works.
Pacerone may be caused by blue-gray discoloration of the skin of the face and hands and make sensitive skin from the sun.
Using sunscreen or wear protective clothing if you must be outside for more than a short time.

How do I take Pacerone?

Read the pamphlets and label the medication and take medication as prescribed by your doctor. Do not take Pacerone in larger amounts or for a longer period of time than recommended by your doctor. Take Pacerone by mouth with food. Avoid grapefruit products while you are on Pacerone unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more information. Pacerone works best when you are taking it consistently, take each dose exactly as prescribed at the same time every day and at evenly spaced intervals through the day and night. Do not stop taking Pacerone or change the dose without letting your doctor know. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and return to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double up on doses. Store Pacerone at room temperature away from heat, moisture, and light.

Serious:

Call emergency medical help if you notice the following:

Hives
Difficulty breathing
Swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

Contact your doctor if you are experiencing the following:

A new or a worsening irregular heartbeat pattern
Fast, slow, or pounding heartbeats
Wheezing, cough, chest tightness, trouble breathing
Blurred vision, headache, or pain behind your eyes, sometimes with vomiting
Feeling short of breath, even with mild exertion, swelling, rapid weight gain
Weight loss, thinning hair, feeling too hot or too cold, increased sweating, irregular menstrual periods, swelling in your neck (goiter)
Feeling nervous, restless, irritable, depressed, or unable to concentrate
Tremor or restless muscle movements
Or nausea, stomach pain, low fever, loss of appetite, dark urine, clay-colored stools, jaundice.

Less serious:

Numbness, burning, pain, or tingly feeling
Feeling dizzy or tired
Nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, constipation, loss of appetite
Sleep problems (insomnia)
Weakness, lack of coordination
Loss of interest in sex
Or warmth, tingling, or redness under your skin.

Aldara treats actinic keratosis, superficial basal cell carcinoma, and external genital and perianal warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV) and appears on the outside of the body. This medicine is not a cure for genital warts. Actinic keratosis is a condition caused by too much sun exposure on the face and scalp that can turn into skin cancer. Superficial basal cell carcinoma is a minor form of skin cancer when surgery is not an appropriate treatment.

Before using Aldara cream, tell your doctor if you are allergic to Aldara or to any other drug, you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or are breast-feeding a baby during treatment, you have graft-versus-host disease, or if you have recently received a bone marrow transplant or cord blood transplant. Tell your doctor about all your prescription and over-the-counter medications, vitamins, minerals, and herbal products that you use.

How to use Aldara:

Before applying Aldara, wash your hands and affected skin area. Allow the skin to dry for at least 10 minutes before applying for the medicine. Always wash your hands after applying for the medicine. If the affected area is wounded, broken, or burned, wait until the skin has healed before using Aldara. Aldara does not protect you against sexually transmitted diseases (for example chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, HIV, syphilis, and trichomoniasis. Avoid sexual activity when the medicine is on your skin, especially if you are treating the genital or rectal area. Aldara cream will weaken the rubber that condoms and diaphragms are made from.

If a dose is missed, wait until the next time before you are getting ready for bed to use the medication. Do not double up on doses to make up for the missed dose.

Precaution, while using Aldara Cream:

Do not use Aldara on areas of broken, wounded, or burned skin.
Do not use Aldara to treat any skin condition.
Avoid getting Aldara in your eyes, mouth, and nose, or on your lips. Do not place the cream in your rectum, vagina, or urethra. If it does get into any of these areas, wash with water.
Do not use Aldara on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, irritated, or broken skin.
Avoid exposure to sunlight or artificial UV rays (sunlamps or tanning beds). Aldara can make your skin more sensitive to sunlight and sunburn. Use sunscreen (minimum SPF 15) and wear protective clothing if you must be out in the sun.
Do not use this medicine on a child younger than 12 years old.
Aldara will not protect against sexually transmitted diseases such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, herpes, HIV, syphilis, and trichomoniasis.

Side effects:

Seek medical attention when you notice these allergic reactions: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Wash off the medication if you notice the following: Mild skin irritation, dryness, flaking, scabbing, redness, or hardening of the skin where the medicine was applied.

Less serious side effects include:

Changes in the color of treated skin
Fever
Chills
Body aches
Swollen glands
Flu symptoms
Runny or stuffy nose
Cough
Sore throat
Headache
Backache
Muscle pain
Diarrhea
Upset stomach
