Lioresal

Lioresal acts on the spinal cord nerves and decreases the number and severity of muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis or spinal cord diseases. It also relieves pain and improves muscle movement. It works by decreasing the regularity and severity of muscle spasms that occurs as a result of neurological disorders.



Important information about Lioresal

Dosage


Lioresal is taken orally by mouth. The starting dose for adults is 5mg and is given three times in a day.



Lioresal side effects


Most severe: Seizures; rash; sore throat; swelling of the mouth or face; difficulty breathing, drowsiness, daytime sedation, dizziness, weakness and fatigue.



Most common: Drowsiness; dizziness; weakness; fatigue; confusion; headache; sleeplessness; nausea; constipation; frequent urination.



Other: Rash; itching; swelling; excessive sweating; weight gain; nasal congestion.



Hallucinations and seizures have occurred when this medicine is stopped suddenly. Use of this medicine should be stopped slowly unless you have a severe reaction to this medicine.
