Lamotrigine is an anticonvulsant medication which is used in the treatment of epilepsy (is a neurological disorder in which excessive surges of electrical energy are emitted in the brain, causing seizures). In psychiatry, Lamotrigine is also indicated in the treatment of bipolar disorder (manic-depression). It helps control seizure disorders and is taken orally. Lamotrigine’s effect upon neurochemicals stabilizes mood, preventing sudden, unpredictable, and severe episodes of mania and depression.

How to take Lamotrigine

Take this medication by mouth exactly as prescribed by your doctor. For the best effects, take this medication at evenly spaced times throughout the day and night. This will ensure a constant level of drug in your body. Do not take this more often or increase your dose without consulting your doctor. Do not stop taking Lamotrigine without your doctor’s approval since seizures may reoccur. Notify your doctor if seizure control worsens.

How does Stugeron work?

Stugeron tablets contain the active ingredient cinnarizine, which is very effective in preventing and treating travel sickness and also inner ear disorders.
Cinnarizine works by blocking histamine and muscarinic receptors in the vomiting center in the brain. It works by preventing the vomiting center from receiving nerve messages from the vestibular apparatus. And in return, this prevents disturbances in the middle ear from activating the vomiting center and causing nausea, vertigo, vomiting, etc.

Acid reflux or Gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) disease occurs when the acid-rich liquid content of the stomach regurgitates into the esophagus.

This liquid can inflame and damage the lining of your esophagus. The refluxed liquid may also contain bile that has backed-up into the stomach from the small intestine (duodenum).

The stomach acid is the most harmful component of the refluxed liquid. Although bile may damage your esophagus, the extent of the damage is not as completely understood as the damaging effects of stomach acid.

Unfortunately, acid reflux is a chronic condition. There is no acid reflux cure. Even after you receive treatment for acid reflux disease and your esophagus heals, the symptoms of acid reflux will return, and the damage will reoccur.

Symptoms of acid reflux

When does acid reflux occur?

  1. After eating a large or fatty meal.
  2. After drinking alcohol.
  3. Lying down, bending over or bending and lifting.
  4. After smoking.
  5. After eating chocolate, caffeine, onions, spicy foods, mint and some medications.
  6. Lying down soon after eating.
  7. After taking tranquilizers, such as benzodiazepines including diazepam (Valium) and alprazolam (Xanax).
  8. After taking Theophylline (Elixophyllin), an asthma medication. In some cases, acid reflux symptoms may have no apparent cause.

Common medications used to treat acid reflux.

Histamine 2 antagonists (H2 antagonists)

Proton Pump Inibitors (PPIs)
