What is Lamisil used for?
This medicine is used by mouth to treat adults with infections of the toenail or fingernail caused by certain fungus.
When should Lamisil not be taken?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine
What precautions should I follow when taking Lamisil?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplements if you have any other medical condition, such as liver or kidney problems
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Lamisil?
Cases of significant hepatobiliary dysfunction as well as isolated cases of blood disorders have been reported in patients treated with this medicine.
What are the side effects of Lamisil?
Most severe: Yellowing of skin or eyes; skin rash (severe); fever; chills; unexplained, persistent nausea; loss of appetite; fatigue; dark urine; pale stools.
Most common: Diarrhea; indigestion; stomach pain; nausea; gas; itching; changes in taste.
Other: Changes in vision; hives; general body discomfort; vomiting; joint pain; muscle pain; hair loss.
How should I take Lamisil?
How much medicine you take and how often you take it depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. If a skin rash develops or worsens, stop using this medicine and contact your doctor at once. Notify your doctor if any of the following occurs: Unexplained persistent nausea; loss of appetite; fatigue; yellowing of skin or eyes; dark urine; pale stools; fever; chills. Lab tests will be required to monitor therapy. Be sure to keep appointments. Do not take any other over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. Do not stop taking or change the dose unless advised to do so by your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.
How should Lamisil be stored?
Store Tablet below 77 degrees F in a tight container. Protect from light.
