What is Detrol used for?
This medicine is used to treat patients with an overactive bladder with symptoms of urinary frequency, urgency, and leakage.
When should Detrol not be taken?
Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to any ingredient in this medicine you have urinary or gastric retention you have uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
What precautions should I follow when taking Detrol?
Before using this medicine, tell your health care provider about any of the following: if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding if you are taking any other prescription or nonprescription medicine or dietary supplements if you have blockage of the bladder or intestines if you have controlled narrow-angle glaucoma if you have liver or kidney problems if you have any other medical condition. This medicine impairs alertness and causes blurred vision. Take care when driving or operating machinery until you know how the drug affects you.
What special warning(s) should I be aware of when taking Detrol?
Use this medicine with caution if you have a bladder obstruction or digestive disorder that could lead to a complete blockage
What are the side effects of Detrol?
Most severe: Chest pain; fast heartbeat; swelling of the arms and legs; difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, face, tongue, or throat.
Most common: Dry mouth; headache; blurred vision; dry eyes; drowsiness; constipation; stomach pain; indigestion.
Other: Nervousness; dizziness, tiredness, dry skin; rash; itching; redness; runny nose; sinus inflammation; gas; weight gain; back pain; vomiting; bronchitis; cough; sore throat; painful, difficult, or frequent urination; joint pain.
How should I take Detrol?
How much medicine you take and how often it is taken depends on many factors, including the condition being treated and the age and weight of the patient. If you have any questions about the amount and/or frequency of the medicine you are taking, talk with your health care provider. Do not crush or chew. Swallow Capsule whole with liquid. This medicine may cause dry mouth. If dry mouth or other side effects persist or worsen, contact your health care provider. This medicine may cause dizziness, drowsiness, or blurred vision. Use caution while driving or performing other tasks requiring alertness, coordination, or physical dexterity. Do not take any over-the-counter or prescription medications or dietary supplements without talking with your health care provider. Patients with other medical conditions should talk with their health care provider before taking this medicine. Do not take more medicine than prescribed unless advised to do so by your health care provider. If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible. If several hours have passed or if it is nearing time for the next dose, do not double the dose to catch up, unless advised to by your health care provider. If more than one dose is missed, contact your health care provider.
How should Detrol be stored?
Store at controlled room temperature (between 59 and 86 degrees F). Protect from light.
